Supercharged Salsa Dip

Supercharge your salsa with flax and enjoy this quick and easy recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) your favourite salsa    
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) light (5% fat) sour cream            
  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) of mashed chipotle pepper in adobe sauce*          
  • 2 Tbsp (30 mL) ground flaxseed
1/2 cup your favourite salsa    1/2 cup light (5% fat) sour cream            1 Tbsp of mashed chipotle pepper in adobe sauce*          2 Tbsp ground flaxseed

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine salsa, sour cream and roasted pepper. Blend until smooth.
  2. Transfer to serving bowl and stir in the ground flaxseed. Serve with assorted chips, crackers or fresh vegetables.
  3. *Note: Add more or less chipotle pepper to adjust how hot you would like the salsa.   

Yield:  1 cup (250 mL)

Serving Size: 1/4 cup (60 mL). Each serving contains 1 tsp (5 mL) of flax.
